Description

Build & structure EDF B2B platforms for it's numerous clients. On these platforms, businesses can manage their energy contracts, make payments and track their energy consumption.

Timeline

April 2022 - January 2024

Project Context

We were commissioned by EDF to build and design with them their new online platforms for their B2B clients. They had 3 types of clients and each had its own platform. All platform were quite similar with a few notable differences. On these platforms, businesses of various sizes can manage their energy contracts, make payments and track their energy consumption along many micro features such as exports, setting up automatic payments etc… This project involved a large tech team on the client side working mainly with Salesforce & Amazon web services. The challenge was to provide solutions according to specific technicals criteria while keeping a consistency in the experience and design system. My main role was do work hand in hand with an UI designer to identify and build the various UX flows for each as well as build a strong core design system & strong project documentation.

Project Objectives:

  • Build 3 platform according to specific clients profiles.
  • Keep a high level of consistency on all platform with a design system
  • Simplify complexe user flows & structure by taking into consideration technical specifications
  • Help the client translate product features into actionable user stories.

User flow :

A few user flows
A few user flows
  • Every feature or need a thorough user flow to take into consideration every critical aspect of each platform.
  • These flows needed to be updated continuously as they evolved with the product.
  • These flows also indicated possible error messages to anticipate along with every data entry points.

Team Process :

  • We worked in monthly cycles, each containing a list of features objectives.
  • I worked in Pair Design with an UI designer.
  • Weekly meeting with the Tech team to discuss product evolutions & follow developments.
  • Weekly 4 hours work sessions with Project manager, Product Owner and Business Manager to write the user stories, review and validate the users flows
  • Review wireframes with the core team & present during weekly demo days.

🔍 Focus on : Notion documentation

Every feature was translated into user stories & thoroughly documented into a Notion Kanban board.

It allowed us to focus, track and document every workflow as well as track each feature progress.

This also allowed us to implement specific work processes and design stages for each feature : User stories specifications —> Design stage —> Development stage —> Testing stage —> Final stage.

🔍 Focus on : Design system documentation

Our Design System was ultra rich in various components that we declined for every device type and break points. This allowed us to keep all our work consistent and design our users flow faster across all three platforms.
